    About Ashley

    With several years of experience teaching and tutoring test prep, Ashley has worked with public, private, and homeschool students whose starting scores have ranged from the 9th to 99th percentiles. Ashley is also an official ACT essay scorer and a volunteer college adviser for the nonprofit organization ScholarMatch.

    Ashley’s students consistently see significant score increases. Ashley once helped a student raise her ACT Reading score from 25 to 35 and another raise her ACT Science score from 23 to 35. She also recently helped a student improve 8 points on the ACT and another improve 290 points on the SAT. Her students have been accepted to MIT, Cornell, UPenn, Duke, and other elite colleges.

    Ashley’s students appreciate her engaging teaching style and her ability to blend humor into the content. Ashley recognizes that standardized tests can seem overwhelming to students, and she likes the challenge of making a daunting and often dreaded task more enjoyable. In return, students thank her for “increasing their confidence and skill” and for being “a great supporter as well as tutor.”

    Noteworthy Accomplishments

    • Ashley got a perfect score on the ACT Reading section.
    • She enjoys leading College Essay Workshops where she helps students craft compelling college application essays.

    Fun Facts

    • Ashley attended culinary school for a year and graduated with a baking and pastry certificate.
    • Her dog, Greta, was raised to be a leader dog for the blind. Greta ultimately flunked out of the program, so Ashley got to keep her.
