She received her M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Washington and her M.S. in Atmospheric Science from North Carolina State University. Briana is a test preparation expert with more than seven years of experience teaching students how to succeed on standardized exams, and over twelve years of experience developing test preparation curriculum.

Briana has tutored students preparing for SAT, ACT, PSAT, ISEE, SSAT, TOEFL, AP, and SAT Subject Tests. She has also contributed to over 35 published works on standardized test preparation, including books focusing on SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, TOEFL, AP, and the SAT Subject Tests. Throughout her career, Briana has personally trained over 200 test-prep instructors. In high school, Briana was a National Merit Finalist and also achieved a perfect score on AP English Literature, AP Spanish Language, and AP Calculus.

Briana enthusiastically demonstrates that standardized tests are beatable when students are armed with the right strategies and foundational knowledge. She takes the time to design a customized preparation plan for her students based on their skills, experience, strengths, and weaknesses. Briana embraces the challenge of making math more fun, interesting, and relevant for students who dread it. She also loves to take the guesswork out of intimidating reading and grammar passages, using formulaic strategies and repeating patterns to find correct answers. Briana has helped students achieve 13-point Math, 10-point Science, 8-point Reading, and 11-point English improvements on the ACT.  She also recently helped a student improve 180 points on the SAT in just 8 hours of tutoring.

Briana’s friendly, approachable nature and boundless sense of humor allow her to relate to students of any age or personality type. She is particularly talented at helping students who struggle with test anxiety manage their symptoms so they can get back to the business of outsmarting test writers. Her students have been accepted to some of the nation’s top colleges and universities.
