B.A. Speech-Language Pathology, CUNY Brooklyn College
Teaching and tutoring the SAT, ACT, SHSAT, and Regents exams since 2012.
Malika was born and raised in New York City, where she earned her degree in Speech-Language Pathology from CUNY Brooklyn College. A truly multifaceted tutor, Malika has several years of experience teaching all components of the SAT, ACT, SHSAT, and Regents exams. She has even taught SAT programs in three different countries, which has enabled her to build a rapport with students from all over the world.
Malika’s pedagogical approach is student-centered, and she urges the student to think out loud and take charge of their own learning. She borrows her slogan from Einstein: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” Keeping this slogan in mind, Malika urges students not only to change their methodology, but also to recognize the predictability of each exam and see the test as something to master. These efforts have made an impact: Malika has had many students gain admission to Ivy League universities as well as other top universities in the country.
By encouraging students to be fully participatory and learn from their mistakes, Malika consistently equips her students with the tools necessary to feel confident on test day. Every session with Malika results in learning as well as laughter.
