    About Sam

Sam was born and raised in sunny southern California, which explains his bright outlook on life. A relentless optimist, Sam is a lifelong learner, teacher, mentor, and coach whose passion is to help students become better critical thinkers and gain a better perspective on how standardized tests fit into their vision for their life.

In the past 13 years, Sam has worked and connected with over 500 students and remembers every one of their names and faces. He has tutored the SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, ISEE, SSAT, and AP exams, and loves to dig into the best approach for each. His teaching is rooted in the belief that attitude begets intention which becomes action. His process-oriented teaching style shifts focus away from results and frees his students to be their best selves and achieve at their maximum levels. These efforts make an impact: Sam has had many students achieve perfect scores on both sections of the SAT, on the SAT Math 2 Subject Test, and on AP exams. Sam himself achieved a perfect 1600 on the SAT in high school, along with an 800 in the Literature Subject Test and scores of 5 on AP Language & Composition, AP Literature & Composition, AP US History, AP European History, and AP Spanish Language.

By maintaining high standards in a safe atmosphere, Sam gives students the autonomy to make and resolve their own mistakes, allowing them to flourish. Sam and his students have also laughed in every single class and tutoring session.
