Mandy

Mandy’s background in education runs deep. In high school, she co-created AHelpingTutor, managing over 100 tutors and supporting 90 students, and founded the NEST Project, which combined art with English literacy for elementary schoolers. These early leadership experiences shaped her commitment to expanding access to education and supporting students with diverse learning needs.

She now tutors all sections of the SAT and ACT, drawing on years of experience working with students across a range of academic levels and goals. Mandy is passionate about creating individualized lesson plans and uses analogies and strategic shortcuts to make concepts more intuitive and memorable. She emphasizes that consistent effort leads to meaningful progress, a perspective she especially values when working with first-generation college applicants navigating the process with limited prior support.

To stay sharp and better understand her students’ experience, Mandy regularly takes timed SAT practice exams herself, giving her firsthand insight into common challenges and pressure points. She creates a learning environment that is both structured and supportive, helping students build confidence alongside strong test-taking skills.

Originally from Boston, Mandy attended Boston Latin School and went on to earn her degree from Georgetown University, later completing an accelerated graduate degree with a 4.0 GPA. A Princeton Prize recipient for Massachusetts and an AP Scholar with Distinction, she brings both academic rigor and a warm, encouraging approach to every session.
