About
Mary is a passionate and experienced tutor who helps students build confidence and master effective strategies on the SAT and ACT.
Originally from Indiana, Mary graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Mathematics. She is now pursuing her Ph.D. in Plant Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. A dedicated scientist from early on, Mary co-authored ten publications during her undergraduate years and received the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship—the most prestigious award in the U.S. for undergraduate STEM students.
Alongside her academic career, Mary has spent years tutoring college-level math, physics, biology, and chemistry, and served as a Teaching Assistant for organic chemistry and biochemistry. She takes pride in helping students unlock their potential and discover study strategies that work best for them.
Mary approaches standardized test prep as a chance to turn challenges into opportunities. On the SAT and ACT, she helps students view problems as engaging puzzles rather than arduous tasks. She teaches time-saving techniques for math, demystifies verbal sections by breaking down their logic, and connects science content to real-world applications to make it more memorable and meaningful.
