About
After excelling at standardized tests in high school and earning admission to Princeton University, Shang started tutoring other high school students to help them achieve strong results on the SAT and ACT.
In high school, Shang was a Kansas Honor Scholar and National Merit Finalist. She graduated from the International Baccalaureate program and was involved with her high school’s chapter of National Honor Society. She also competed in math competitions and placed in the top ten in MathCounts and SUMday.
In addition to tutoring standardized tests, Shang has experience tutoring college-level Chinese language and literature at Princeton University. Drawing on her East Asian Studies background, she supported both beginner and advanced students by refining pronunciation, editing written work, and assisting with research projects. Her expertise is grounded in advanced coursework in Chinese language as well as real-world translation experience, including translating newsletters and other materials between Chinese and English for various organizations.
Shang brings a patient, empathetic approach to tutoring, emphasizing strong relationships and individualized instruction. She prioritizes understanding each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, and adapts her teaching accordingly. Through her work as a college orientation leader and teaching assistant, she developed a collaborative and supportive teaching style that helps students feel confident and engaged.
Shang is currently a teaching assistant at an elementary school and is exploring a future career in arts and education.

- As a high school student, Shang scored a 1570 on the SAT, with a perfect 800 in Math.
