About

Educated at Columbia University (magna cum laude), Zafir earned a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History. As an undergraduate, he was active in political organizations, running voter drives, hosting weekly meetings on issues, and managing a trip to Washington D.C. to meet with congressional legislators. He also conducted research with a professor on the role of social media in the Ugandan parliamentary elections.

He has taught high school mathematics, supporting small-group instruction as a teacher’s aide, and taught English fluency courses to adult refugees. In addition to private tutoring, Zafir has worked with nonprofit organizations to tutor students throughout New York City in math and language arts.
