Amelia
About
Amelia is a Yale College graduate and part-time tutor based in Los Angeles with over 10 years of experience helping students of all backgrounds and grade levels succeed in advanced classes, language mastery, and standardized tests, including the SAT/ACT and TOEFL.
Proficient in Mandarin, French, and Spanish, with professional experience in translation and copywriting, Amelia enjoys helping students become more confident in critical analysis and expressing themselves articulately in any context, whether an AP Literature essay or a visa interview. She is also skilled at helping students who see themselves as “not great at math,” having overcome that mindset herself to attain 5s on her own AP Calculus exams.
Amelia loves learning about her students’ interests and tailors her lessons to ensure that the learning process stays engaging, productive, and rewarding. In addition to teaching, Amelia enjoys painting, video games, playing pop songs on the piano, and hiking with her dogs.
