About

Chris earned his degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, where his interest in markets and incentives took shape through the Undergraduate Real Estate Program. While there, he placed first in a real estate case competition and discovered a love of teaching while working as an accounting tutor. After graduation, his focus shifted to energy markets, leading him to complete a Master’s in Finance at the University of Houston, where he contributed to research on Houston’s role in the renewable energy transition. More importantly, he found his true calling as a GMAT instructor, guiding hundreds of students—ranging in age from their 20s to their 60s—toward graduate school over the course of four years.

That experience solidified his transition into education as a full-time career. Chris has taught mathematics in both low-income and private school settings, covering courses from Algebra I through AP Calculus. In parallel, he developed deep expertise as an SAT and ACT tutor, driven by the belief that standardized tests represent a strategic opportunity for students to distinguish themselves. Having earned scores in the 99th percentile on SAT Math and Reading/Writing and 34+ on ACT Math, Science, English, and Reading, Chris emphasizes that strong content mastery paired with deliberate strategy can benefit students at any starting score level. His students have gone on to earn results such as 700+ on each SAT section and 33+ on each ACT section.

Chris views one-on-one tutoring as a rare opportunity to invest in the most valuable resource—people. By building individualized relationships with his students, he aims not only to help them excel on standardized tests, but also to equip them with lasting analytical skills and confidence that extend far beyond test day.
