Colleen has extensive experience in a variety of educational settings. In high school, Colleen achieved scores of 5 on the AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP English Literature, and AP English Language exams. She earned a 99th-percentile verbal SAT score, which, in conjunction with her perfect 4.0 GPA, earned her the distinction of graduating valedictorian of her class and the merit-based Tsongas Scholarship.

As an undergraduate, Colleen completed multiple degrees—a BS in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics and a BA in Secondary Education with a certificate in Virtual Education—and graduated summa cum laude. She also worked as the Head Mathematics Tutor at her university and was inducted into the university’s chapter of the Pi Mu Epsilon Math Honor Society.

Colleen went on to earn her MS in Mathematics from the University of Northern Alabama, where she was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and where she continues to work as a teaching assistant in graduate-level courses for advanced analysis and abstract algebra. Colleen has experience working with advanced students to meet high test score benchmarks, as well as with at-risk students to get into their desired post-high school programs. In addition, she served as an Education Director and High School Program Coordinator for a Massachusetts tutoring company for over a year. She also earned her Massachusetts teaching license and has two years of teaching experience in both the private and public sector.

Colleen firmly believes that all students have the ability to succeed and is honored to help them exceed their goals. She has an enthusiastic and energetic tutoring style that makes learning fun and relatable, and she specializes in giving examples that tie in to a student’s interests and hobbies to increase retention and understanding. Colleen believes that customizing the learning approach to a student’s strengths is a great way to keep sessions engaging and boost progress and confidence.
