Gwenny graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and minors in Japanese and Biochemistry. Her excellence in academia was recognized by Villanova University, where she was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Chemistry. During graduate school she also served as a Teaching Assistant, working with undergraduate students in their biology and chemistry laboratory courses.

Gwenny began her tutoring career in 2011 when her classmates needed help with Latin. Since then, she has expanded her tutoring experiences across a range of subjects, with particular expertise in Biology and Biochemistry. She has helped students across all levels, even taking some students from barely passing their courses to an A- at the semester’s end.

Today, as a scientist at one of the top pharmaceutical companies in the United States, Gwenny truly understands how intricate science can be. Recently, she was part of a team that was in the running to develop a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. Gwenny aims to educate her students by reframing complicated concepts with easy-to-understand terms and examples. She has motivated hundreds of students to aim for excellence in their academic careers and found unique ways to help them achieve their goals.

When tutoring, Gwenny ensures her students fully comprehend the material through humor, activities, and catchy songs that will prompt students to recall formulas and mechanisms. Her attention to detail allows her to customize her teaching approach to each student’s learning style. Gwenny has been praised for her enthusiasm, organization, and teaching strategies to help her students become more confident in their science skills.
