M.A. & B.A. University of Denver
24 years experience

Heidi is a career educator who champions each student’s unique potential. Having worked with a wide range of students, from those aiming for near-perfect scores to non-native speakers, those with learning differences/special needs, and those needing scores just high enough to qualify to play collegiate level sports, Heidi cares deeply about each of her students and is particularly skilled at pairing with students to identify and remove their barriers to learning.

Heidi earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Denver. She graduated with honors and minored in psychology and sociology—while volunteering at a crisis hotline and working two jobs to put herself through school. Heidi went on to earn a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction.

An experienced educator, Heidi taught for 8 years at the high school and middle school levels (English/language arts, German, and study skills). She also has over two decades of experience as a test prep tutor, helping scores of students earn merit aid from colleges based on their SAT/ACT scores. Heidi is enthusiastic about guiding her students to their personal best scores while making the process as painless—and, she dares to say, fun—as possible!

Noteworthy Accomplishments

  • Heidi has worked with many students who have received merit aid awards for their high SAT and ACT scores as well as with a number of National Merit recipients.
  • Heidi has coached students to perfect scores on individual sections of the SAT and ACT.

Fun Facts

  • Heidi ran the Honolulu Marathon in the 8th grade with her mother and grandfather. They were featured on TV as the race’s first three-generation team.
  • Though not particularly a sci-fi fan, Heidi has watched all of the Star Wars live-action films multiple times and (on a dare from her son) watched all seven seasons (133 episodes) of the Clone Wars animated series this past summer before her son left for college.
