About

Jason has more than sixteen years of experience tutoring test preparation and has helped hundreds of students significantly raise their scores and gain admission to top universities and liberal arts colleges. He has also written and edited SAT and ACT textbooks, giving him unique insight into how test makers design their questions. Over his career, he has guided dozens of students to perfect scores on the SAT and ACT Writing/English sections, and once led an entire math class from below 580 to above 700 in just one summer. His approach emphasizes teaching students how to tackle future variations of the questions they find most challenging, ensuring lasting confidence and skill.

Jason’s passion for teaching began at Bowdoin College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree after graduating in the top 3% of his high school class. He went on to complete an MA in Education at Loyola Marymount University, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA and received the Mary K. Dasaro scholarship. Over the years, he has taught English, Math, and Science to students of all ages and worked in both education technology and professional development for teachers.

At the heart of Jason’s tutoring is his commitment to creating “aha!” moments for students. He carefully designs tailor-made lessons that are scaffolded to meet each learner’s needs, and he brings patience, positivity, and encouragement to every session. For Jason, nothing is more rewarding than watching his students achieve their academic goals and gain confidence along the way.
