Jimmy

Jimmy has worked with students in classrooms and one-on-one for over a decade, focusing on college admission exam preparation ever since graduating magna cum laude from Chapman University, where he was awarded the school’s highest academic scholarship. Jimmy’s own high school career included perfect scores on the AP Language & Literature, AP US History, and AP Calculus exams. His students have improved as many as 14 points on the Reading section and 13 points on the English section of the ACT. In the past three years, 100% of Jimmy’s AP students have received scores of 3 or higher on their AP tests.

Jimmy is ArborBridge’s Math Subject Specialist as well as one of ArborBridge’s leading US History tutors, supporting the entire tutoring team on AP curriculum development. Furthermore, as one of a small, hand-selected team of ArborBridge Coaches, Jimmy empowers his students to achieve their goals through individualized work in executive functioning, test-taking foundations, and testing mindset strategies.

After working with Jimmy, students have gained acceptance to many of the top 20 universities in the United States, including Ivy League universities. When working with his students, Jimmy emphasizes not only knowledge of the given material but also methods by which students can begin the process of self-evaluation and growth, skills which extend well beyond the test prep domain. An improv performer and stand-up comedian, Jimmy brings enthusiasm and humor to even the most difficult subjects. He strives for sessions that are approachable and memorable and that support students in all facets of their education, even beyond admissions exams. In his free time, Jimmy performs improv comedy, hosts a baseball podcast, and is always game for any trivia contest that might ensue.
