Rachel Brand has served as a tutor and social studies teacher for over five years. She graduated from the College of William & Mary with highest honors in 2013 and went on to earn her M.S.Ed. in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University. Rachel has had the honor of teaching many amazing students throughout her career, and she loves helping young people realize their potential and achieve greatness.

One of Rachel’s fondest academic experiences involved taking seven of her AP students on an educational trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua as part of the Global Leadership Program she founded at her school in Norfolk, VA. When not working, Rachel is usually reading something related to history, photographing nature, or spending time with her sweet dogs.

Noteworthy Accomplishments

  • Rachel was accepted into Project KREO (a community based environmental research project) at William and Mary and completed a field research assignment in Bangladesh.
  • Rachel was accepted into a seminar with the National Endowment for the Humanities at Newberry Library in Chicago.

Fun Facts

  • Rachel loves to travel. So far, she has been to Alaska (twice), Bangladesh, Jamaica, Canada, Spain, UAE, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Colorado, California, and all across the east coast of the US.
  • Rachel has a heart for nature. She loves spending time with her dogs and getting outside as much as possible.
