Selena

Selena graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University. While obtaining her BS in Human Biology, she tutored the ACT and SAT, and she worked with other students through the undergraduate Academic Success Center, tutoring them in math, physics, chemistry, and biological sciences. One of Selena’s favorite experiences from her undergraduate career was when she led a research project on the efficacy of two drugs for treating Parkinson’s disease.

While in high school, Selena scored in the 99th percentile on the Mathematics section of the SAT, earned perfect scores on the tests for AP Biology and AP Calculus AB, and went on to graduate 3rd in her class.

Selena’s years of academic tutoring have given her the enthusiasm and compassion necessary to navigate eager students. She enjoys getting to know each of her tutees, understanding their strengths and weaknesses, and fostering a welcoming environment. Selena’s experience with tutoring and content development has made her a pro at adapting curriculum, test-taking skills, and her tutoring style to meet each of her tutee’s needs.
