About

Sophia graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a B.A. in Global Politics & Art, a major she independently designed that investigates the intersection between International Relations and Art History. She also earned a B.A. in the History of Art and Architecture. Throughout her time at Brown, Sophia virtually tutored over 30 students in the SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS, and other school subjects. She also honed her teaching skills in other ways—as a TA for Modern Greek and Environmental Science, as a classroom assistant in a Providence elementary school, and as a tutor to a refugee student in Providence through Brown’s Youth Tutoring and Enrichment program.

In high school, Sophia was President of National Honor Society, graduated cum laude, and was a member of the Spanish Honor Society and Math Honor Society. In addition, she was a three-sport athlete and captain of two of these teams: soccer and softball. She earned scores of 5 on the AP Comparative Government, AP U.S. Government, AP U.S. History, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP English Language, AP English Literature, and AP Spanish Language exams. She scored a 35 on her ACT.

Sophia likes to make tutoring fun & funny—like a conversation that you finish and realize you’ve learned a lot from, rather than a really strenuous session. She also gets really invested in the students she tutors; she loves to help them overcome setbacks and celebrate successes.
