Thandiwe graduated from Virginia Tech with a major in Economics and a minor in Mathematics. During her time there, she started two student organizations—a poetry club and a fundraising group for clean water—while also working as an editor at the college newspaper. In 2014, she began tutoring students preparing for the SAT and ACT and later became a TESOL certified English teacher. She has since helped more than 2000 students from over 30 countries build skills in English grammar and comprehension. 

As a high school student, Thandiwe was a National Achievement Finalist and an AP Scholar with Honor, with scores of 5 on the AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP English Language, and AP English Literature exams. She also received the Presidential Award for Educational Excellence and scored a 1470 on the SAT.

Thandiwe’s students love her sense of humor and her ability to explain challenging concepts in plain language. She is patient and kind, making students feel comfortable asking questions and helping them build their confidence in their ability to achieve their goals.
